To absolutely everybody, Brady Kacvinsky is weird. Unnatural. Insane. And if you asked Brady himself, he wouldn’t argue. He stopped doing that a long, long time ago. Years of verbal and physical abuse from everybody around him has made him an extreme loner without a single friend. And that’s fine by him. He believes he deserves it. Shunned from society when he discovered he had the ability to shift into a wolf form, he lost his friends, family, and, all in all, life. In fact, he used to be quite a popular boy before it all. However introverted Brady may be now, nobody can dispute the fact that he’s a looker, but you’ll still be lucky if you can even get a word out of him. When the Attackers invaded his hometown in Germany, it was his morphing power that got him out of there. Safening found him when he was near-dead, without the energy to keep his wolf form anymore. After a couple of months, he’s healed wonderfully, almost miraculously, but only in his physical aspects. It would take something— or maybe someone— amazing to try and heal the emotional scars that were left behind.
Jessamine Baker || Chloë Moretz | Open | 16 | Human, Powerless
Jess used to be an aspiring— and well on her way to fame— actress before the attacks. She’s gotten a lot quieter since she watched her parents die… she’s let less and less people through to see who she truly is. Here at Safening, she’s only got one or two friends, way less than when everybody wanted to get personal with her to try and use her fame. Readjusting to a normal life is a lot easier than she thought it would be. Even though she misses memorizing lines and getting into character sometimes, nobody can dispute that curling up with a good book and a warm mug of hot chocolate beats anxiously sitting by a phone and waiting for a call that would decide where your career goes next. The normal-as-it-gets life she’s offered at Safening is proving to be quite cozy for Jessamine, maybe a little too cozy. You can’t get used to having any one thing for two long, especially if that thing could be ripped from your clutches any second. At Safening, every moment is a moment you have to spend on your toes, waiting…
Fletcher Whitetip || Liam Payne | Taken | 19 | Human, Invisibility
Fletcher always thought being invisible to the world meant no one cared to notice him. He was always on his own and was always being ignored or bullied. One day, the bullying got so bad his mind was able to manifest a physical invisibility to allow him an escape from his attackers. Initially, he had no idea how to control this invisibility; it was triggered by strong emotions… unfortunately— happiness was included in those emotions. When he began morphing to his invisible state during school he was seen as that much more of an outsider and was bullied much more. When the day came that the attacks started, he was able to use his invisibility to escape the grasp of the Attackers, thus earning him a spot in Safening.
