Brady Kacvinsky || Evan Peters | Open | 19 | Half-Wolf, Morpher

To absolutely everybody, Brady Kacvinsky is weird. Unnatural. Insane. And if you asked Brady himself, he wouldn’t argue. He stopped doing that a long, long time ago. Years of verbal and physical abuse from everybody around him has made him an extreme loner without a single friend. And that’s fine by him. He believes he deserves it. Shunned from society when he discovered he had the ability to shift into a wolf form, he lost his friends, family, and, all in all, life. In fact, he used to be quite a popular boy before it all.  However introverted Brady may be now, nobody can dispute the fact that he’s a looker, but you’ll still be lucky if you can even get a word out of him. When the Attackers invaded his hometown in Germany, it was his morphing power that got him out of there. Safening found him when he was near-dead, without the energy to keep his wolf form anymore. After a couple of months, he’s healed wonderfully, almost miraculously, but only in his physical aspects. It would take something— or maybe someone— amazing to try and heal the emotional scars that were left behind.

Lillian Goethe || Elle Fanning | Open | 14 | Human, Telepath, Spirit [Victim of the Attackers]

Lily seems to be an innocent girl who keeps to herself. It’s obvious she’s not like the rest of the program’s children, though. She’s younger than them, more… translucent. Almost invisible to the rest of them. When she showed up on Safening’s doorstep, in a tattered dress, with cuts and scars and blood covering the whole of her petite, delicate body, the Safening had no choice but to take her in, even if they didn’t know what her part in the program would be just yet. Time went on, and soon, everybody discovered that, like only a couple of the others in the program, Lily was a telepath. Soon after this discovery, she and Ellen— one of Safening’s few telepaths— became closer. Of course, Lily would only take the form of some intangible wisp around anybody at all. No one could distinguish any of her features. Nobody would go as far as to say that they’re friends, though… Lily didn’t have any friends. No one had seen enough of her up to that point; but there was something about Lily that just seemed so familiar to Ellen. The way Lily spoke and held herself. Her kind disposition. Something about her holds the key to something that’s part of Ellen’s past, she’s sure of it, but she just hasn’t discovered what that something is yet.

Dalia Moon || Heather Morris | Open | 18 | Human, Time-Traveler

Dalia has never been the brightest crayon in the box, or the sharpest tool in the shed, but nobody can dispute that Dalia has always been the most agreeable, the kindest, and the fairest of them all. She cares about the way she looks, and people sometimes mistake that for being a trait only a snotty, rich girl can possess. When she was a little girl, she’d tell anyone who was willing to listen that she was going to be a princess when she grew up. And she acts like one, even now. She never has a bad word to say about anybody, and when people say she’s innocent, it’s not a lie. The worst thing this girl’s ever done is squash a bug. She found out she had the power to travel through time when she woke up and experienced the same day over and over again— for an entire month! Eventually, she learned to control her power, though, and now she’s one of Safening’s most valuable members. If the scientists can figure out where the Attackers started, what really caused them, then Dalia and the other time-travelers of Safening could go back and prevent them from happening. But… you’re not supposed to mess with the fabric of time. And when the top time-traveler isn’t the smartest girl in the world… can’t a lot of things go wrong?

Rosetta Sheeran || Marina Diamandis | Open | 19 | Human, Powerless

Rosetta is one of the most artistic girls in Safening. Her feisty attitude keeps everyone in her presence on their toes, and that’s exactly what she wants, always. She’s not quite as promiscuous as Ian, per se, but they’ve both had their nights, some together. She doesn’t care about the opinions of others, and she is completely her own person. She dances, she writes, she sings, and she’s convinced that even with the attacks happening outside of Safening, one day she’ll make it big. Her spot in Safening was secured by Ellen, since they used to be the best of friends… until they both made some bad choices. Their friendship was broken into so many pieces, it seems impossible that they’ll ever be able to make up. Rosetta isn’t one to take no for an answer, no matter how long it takes her to get her way. She’s an absolute psycho for the most part, but nobody seems to mind when she’s willing to do everybody favors… for something in return, of course.

Baker Davis || Bertie Gilbert | Open | 17 | Human, Psychic

Baker is one of those extremely-awkward-but-extraordinarly-for-some-reason-liked people. It might be his looks that earns him his popularity status with everyone in Safening, or maybe it’s the way his mind is set up to compliment everybody he meets, but in any case, he’s much better off than his younger brother, Alex. When they were each ten, respectively, they started to have dreams with them or people they knew in an older state, and then the dreams started happening more often, even while they were awake. Their mother sat them down to talk when Alex was twelve and Baker had just barely turned fourteen, and told them about their family history as psychics. Needless to say, Safening scooped them both up as quickly as they could— it never hurts to have two psychic brothers around. But are their predictions always true? Are the boys even trustworthy to begin with? Who says they won’t lie to get what they want? Who says their gift won’t fade away…?

Alexander Davis || Dom Herman-Day | Open | 16 | Human, Psychic

Alex is almost as adorable as Ellen. Only… he’s less liked. It seems to everyone that he tries too hard. And hey, when you live in the shadow of an older brother like his own, Baker, that’s not surprising. He’s always had to live up to the good grades. To the social status. To the amount of friends. It seems that no matter how hard he tries, he’s always getting beat up or being put into awkward situations. In his freshman year of high school, he started to slip into a few habits he’s been through rehab for, but once an addict, always an addict, right? Alex is actually incredibly artistically talented. While Baker was downstairs being congratulated for a thousandth award or for being elected class president for the umpteenth time, Alex would be upstairs, taking out all of his frustrations the one way he knew best: art. He’s only ever shown his closest friends one or two of his pieces, and he’s uber protective over them. Don’t think you can get close to Alex in a heartbeat— he’s resistant and reserved. But, if you care enough to break down that wall, you’re in for a real treat of a best friend.

Alice Daniels || Evanna Lynch | Open | 17 | Human, Emphatic Manipulator

Alice is a very care-free and intelligent girl. She does seem younger than her age most of the time, but she can prove you wrong if you accuse her of being too childish. She can easily turn any stressful situation into a calm one. Her power helps a bit with that. Her personality reflects it, though. Before the attacks began, she didn’t pay attention to anything, much. But when the Attackers murdered her small family, it changed. She escaped narrowly, because of her father’s last actions in hiding her. Then, he was taken, too. Since then, she’s been with Safening, helping in any way possible.

Claire Jane || Liz Gillies | Open | 19 | Human, Metamorphmagus

Disowned by her parents for being able to shift into anything, Claire has become very rebellious. Originally Anne June, she changed her name to Claire Jane when she left her hometown. She joined Safening as soon as she heard of it. Claire’s a very valuable member of Safening, and is willing to do anything for the program. Her past is a touchy subject for her, so try not to mention it at all. And if you can get under that hard shell she has, she’s one of the most trustworthy friends you’ll ever have.

Malcolm Walker || Louis Tomlinson | Open | 20 | Human, Powerless

Malcolm became part of Safening through being best friends with Ian Coxx. Malcolm, also called Mal, is a bit of a prankster and loves a laugh when he can get one. When Mal isn’t with Ian, he’s pulling pranks on every other member of Safening, and most of the members don’t appreciate his humor. Though Mal can be a joker, he is also very serious when he needs to be. He is one of the best people to go to if you just need to talk to someone. And being naturally charming doesn’t hurt him much either.
