Lillian Goethe || Elle Fanning | Open | 14 | Human, Telepath, Spirit [Victim of the Attackers]

Lily seems to be an innocent girl who keeps to herself. It’s obvious she’s not like the rest of the program’s children, though. She’s younger than them, more… translucent. Almost invisible to the rest of them. When she showed up on Safening’s doorstep, in a tattered dress, with cuts and scars and blood covering the whole of her petite, delicate body, the Safening had no choice but to take her in, even if they didn’t know what her part in the program would be just yet. Time went on, and soon, everybody discovered that, like only a couple of the others in the program, Lily was a telepath. Soon after this discovery, she and Ellen— one of Safening’s few telepaths— became closer. Of course, Lily would only take the form of some intangible wisp around anybody at all. No one could distinguish any of her features. Nobody would go as far as to say that they’re friends, though… Lily didn’t have any friends. No one had seen enough of her up to that point; but there was something about Lily that just seemed so familiar to Ellen. The way Lily spoke and held herself. Her kind disposition. Something about her holds the key to something that’s part of Ellen’s past, she’s sure of it, but she just hasn’t discovered what that something is yet.

Jacob Harrison || Darren Criss | Open | 22 | Human, Telepath

Safening would probably fall apart without Jake. Since he’s one of the oldest participants, everyone finds themselves looking up to him. He’s a complete role model in all the ways possible. He’s one of the silliest when the mood needs to be lightened, but he can take complete and total charge of a situation when something serious comes up. He’s Ellen’s half-brother by their mother, but they try and avoid each other most of the time. They’ve never gotten along. All of the girls-and even some of the guys-have massive crushes on him. And hey, who wouldn’t? He’s a leader, and everyone loves someone with that much influence. Sometimes, for the wrong reasons…

Ellen Onblyle || Karen Gillan | Taken | 19 | Human, Telepath

Ellen is, in a word, adorable. She’s always been one of those girls with too much to do and not enough time to do it. Before Safening, she was class president, head cheerleader, and a soloist in the town’s local dance company. But on her nineteenth birthday, the day of the attacks and recruits, her entire life got flipped upside down, just like everybody else’s. Her little sister, Kate, was one of the victims that day, so she’s always been touchy on the subject of the attacks at all. Not to mention that her half-brother, Jacob, might have had something to do with it. She may be sensitive, just a little too naïve, and maybe even insane, but she’s not going to rest until the Attackers have been silenced.
